Staff don't typically answer the phone, which sucks if you want to book something or even check what's currently on tap. One can't even leave a message because the voice mailbox is full, and has been for a while, so you know the owner/manager isn't checking messages very often. Not much in the line of food, except poutine. Not much investment into better tables and chairs, or other interior improvements, even though this location became Phog 20 years ago. It doesn't seem like management wants to invest in such things. They have no debit machine, and only accept cash. I guess it makes it easier to blur the lines when it comes to revenue, and not declare a certain amount of their profits. Nowhere to get away from intense noise if there's a louder, heavy band playing, since the amplified sound is cranked beyond what is necessary for the tiny front area. I can't imagine the degree of hearing damage and/or tinnitus that some of the bar staff and regular patrons are suffering from. It's sad what's become of this location since the days when it was the Eclectic Cafe. How things change.

Great scene with awesome staff and really fun live music. Drinks are pretty pricey, which was really the only downside, but such is the case with most bars lately.

About you would expect from a small bar downtown with live musicians. The beer is pretty good just make sure to bring cash as that's all they accept and to listen to the band as well.

So psyched about this place having an open poet nite, I wish I had known sooner when it was every week!! So excited to share and listen to all the poetry that's out there!! There are a lot of really good poets out there, really enjoyed the positive atmosphere. Thank you for letting me be a part of this opportunity! So awesome possomness!

Good selection of drinks. Friendly staff. Some local brew options. A little on the pricey side in my opinion but still a good place to see live, original music if you're not looking for a high class venue. It's dark and dingy and full of character. Depending on the band, bring earplugs. It's a small place and it can get really loud. Lost 1/2 star for drink prices and 1/2 star for the sound system. If you're gonna have live music, I would advocate for a decent PA and someone to at least help with soundcheck. Aside from that, keep supporting local music!

Went to see a show and they were over capacity. Given the size of the venue, this is probably pretty common. That part is understandable. What isn't understandable is that they still insist on charging you for parking.The second we pulled up this guy Ted is at our window asking for money. He didn't even let us or if our car, nevermind checking the venue to see If we could get in, before paying. This all seems very set up and intentional. When we came back 30 sec later and respectfully asked if we could have our parking fee back, he flat out refused and hid in his little parking outhouse to avoid taking to us.As far as I'm concerned, this is a scam supported by Phog. He is well aware that they'll be over capacity by 930 and at that point gets to charge a full night's parking to each car that shows up for 30 seconds by not letting them check the venue, just telling them, or giving their money back if they're there less than 1min.
